Tenuta il Nespolo
Luca Amerio, a young and passionate winemaker from the Nizza Monferrato area, runs his wine estate in Moasca, a picturesque village still largely off the conventional tourist track. The place is dominated by an evocative castle restored with respect for its historical beauty, surrounded by vineyards and rich biodiversity.
If you are planning a visit to Monferrato, you absolutely cannot miss the opportunity to explore this destination.
Tenuta il Nespolo, named after the imposing medlar tree that stands in front of the entrance, has a long tradition of producing high quality bulk wine. Luca has chosen to preserve this heritage not only to satisfy his family, but also to communicate the nobility behind each demijohn. The winery is a pilgrimage destination not only for enthusiasts from the surrounding area, but also for fans from Lombardy, attracted by the opportunity to stock up on a fine red wine for the winter and to spend a day enjoying good food and wine.
Tenuta il Nespolo, with its small, cosy cellar, exudes authenticity. Old cement vats, steel tanks and barriques used for longer ageing, as in the case of Nizza, give the place a genuine atmosphere. The wines stored in these vats represent the classic varieties of the area: Barbera, undisputed queen, Dolcetto, Favorita and Chardonnay, enriched by small batches of other varieties such as Sangiovese, planted many years ago with a stroke of audacity by Luca's grandfather and today a fundamental component of 'Vino da Sete'. A unique blend of cultivated grapes with a truly singular history, created by Luca during the lockdown period together with some passionate friends.
