Podere Gagliassi
Monforte d'Alba, CN
A historic winery in Monforte d'Alba, Podere Gagliassi was taken over in 2015 by Nino Aragno and Marco Scanavino. In 2016, Roberto Forno began caring for the vineyards, and as of 2019, he became a full-fledged part of the winery. Thanks to their alchemy, chemistry, and complicity, son Eugenio also collaborates with his father in taking direct care of the winemaking and cellar.
Roberto, from a young age, cultivated vineyards and together with his brothers ran the family winery based in Santo Stefano Belbo for years. Later, he chose to devote himself exclusively to the land with love, dedication and passion still working his vineyard.
In 2016, the total renovation of the estate vineyards began. On an area of 16 hectares, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Alta Langa (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) and Dolcetto grapes are produced, coming to increase production in 2019. All the vineyards are around the Podere, with the exception of the Badarina vineyard of Nebbiolo da Barolo, which is located in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba.
Podere Gagliassi is founded on tradition, culture and love for the land, basic principles that sustain it. Fundamental is the attention to the techniques used in the work, which are based exclusively on sensitive cultivation, respecting the environment and people. Certification was made official in 2020, but already since 2017 all crops are BIO.
